When it comes to giving back to the community, George Lopez will not simply settle for one cause. We love that his foundation aims to support underprivileged children, adults and military families who are dealing with challenges in education or health – this is so necessary right now, especially as more troops and veterans are returning home. George is also a champion of the National Kidney Foundation, and much of The Lopez Foundation’s focus is centered around raising support and awareness for children with kidney disease. For instance, his recent Give Back to Hollywood golf tournament helped to raise funds and awareness for a program that sends hospitalized children to a two week Children’s Kidney Camp where they can enjoy a youthful experience that so many of them wouldn’t have the opportunity to experience otherwise.
George’s big heart also reaches out to those in need around the world - he has received the Manny Mota Foundation Community Spirit Award and was named Honorary Mayor of Los Angeles after his foundation helped to raise funds for earthquake victims in El Salvador and Guatemala
