Shockingly, 1 out of 3 moms has had to choose between giving their babies diapers of food.  That was all Jessica Alba had to hear to get involved as a volunteer with Baby2baby.  “As a mother, I cannot imagine what it must be like for parents who cannot afford the most basic necessities for their babies. No child, regardless of his/her family’s socio-economic status, should ever be without diapers, food, clothing or hygiene items. Our goal is to help alleviate some of the burden on these families by providing them with these essentials.”

Baby2baby makes so much sense. And it’s such a simple idea: they distribute your gently used baby-gear through a network of community-based organizations that serve local Los Angeles families in need. These organizations help families living in poverty who are trying to overcome issues of homelessness, domestic violence, drug abuse, teen pregnancy and family preservation. By supplying these agencies and the people they help with the most basic needs, Baby2Baby alleviates some of the burden so they can focus on achieving their goals.

Baby2Baby accepts donations of new and gently used baby, children, and maternity items. For a full list of needed items please visit: http://www.baby2baby.org/content/page/givestuff

If you’re in Los Angeles, come out and volunteer to sort donations at their warehouse:  iVolunteer Baby2Baby Los Angeles Project. Grab some friends and make it fun.  Who knows, you might be there on a day that Jessica volunteers!
