The truth is, there are more than 13 million children that live in poverty in the U.S alone.  And it’s a cycle that keeps repeating itself as it is passed down from generation to generation.  The greatest tool we have in breaking this poverty chain is education, which is why we think John Legend and his The Show Me Campaign are so awesome.  John Legend wrote the song “Show Me” asking simple, honest questions about life, why there is so much suffering in the world, and what each of us can do about it. The Show Me Campaign takes its inspiration from the song and was launched so that people could get involved.   The Show Me Campaign is tackling the plight in our educational system here at home by supporting community-led development initiatives that provide sustainable and scalable solutions to help the communities lift themselves out of extreme poverty. “Solving the crisis in America’s public education system is one of the most critical issues of our time, I strongly believe that access to quality education is a civil right of every American child.”  John’s campaign also helps kids around the globe.  His organization recently partnered with the community of Mbola, Tanzania by supporting agriculture education and providing fertilizer to farmer, sustainable access to clean drinking water, Building schools, training teachers and providing lunches.
