The San Francisco Child Abuse Prevention Center (SFCAPC) is dedicated to fostering healthy families, empowering under-served children, and encouraging hope to survivors of abuse and crisis. Its counseling, educational, and nurturing family centers support parents and children as they learn to cope and become self-reliant. Currently, volunteers are needed to assist the professional staff in SFCAPC’s Playroom and Respite Center. Volunteer and spend quality time with the center’s young children by playing games, reading books, and creating artistic projects together while their parents receive valuable resources and family assistance. It’s most important to provide these at-risk youth the attention and guidance they deserve while allowing them to be the kids that they are in SFCAPC’s safe environment. Volunteers must be 18 years or older and pass a background check. Playroom and Respite Center volunteers must commit to one 2-3 hour shift per week for a commitment of 3 months.
