Los Angeles Team Mentoring (LATM) offers at-risk urban adolescents a chance to learn, grow, and have fun in a safe and supportive environment. LATM recruits caring and compassionate volunteers to join its team mentoring programs throughout the school year. A group of three adult volunteers are matched together with a group of underserved middle school students, who, together, become a team of solidarity. Volunteers join their mentees in a wide range of activities, including after-school sessions at any of its 13 school sites throughout LA county, and various interactive field trips. For just 2 hours a week (3:00pm-5:00pm), volunteers help these students learn the significance of communication, teamwork, and leadership. LATM staff plans and provides everything for events–all you have to do is come and have fun! Complete the volunteer application on LATM’s website to get started. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age, pass a background check, and complete the training provided. Become a positive role model and share unforgettable experiences with these youth–and create impacts that are sure to last a lifetime.
