MGR Foundation believes in giving for the sake of giving. It welcomes volunteers within the Chicago community who are willing to make a difference for others by confronting social issues and constructing effective solutions, like helping the hungry and homeless. Volunteers are needed every Monday and Thursday for MGR’s Food Circle to help prepare 60-100 meal packs for MGR’s visitors. Volunteers sort donated groceries by food groups to ensure recipients all receive an equally balanced meal. Volunteers then distribute meals to recipients that same afternoon. All supplies are provided by MGR’s donors–just bring yourself and your good will! In just one day, your contribution can provide nourishment to many in need. Individuals or groups may join, and minors under 18 must have a parental consent form signed (see website). Volunteers should arrive at the designated location at 10:30am and plan to stay until mid-afternoon. RSVP to Sarah via email prior to the event, and receive further details.
