Do friends call you for advice when their puppy chews up a shoe? Share your love and knowledge of dogs by volunteering as an adoption counselor with New Leash on Life. Volunteers will assist in matching potential owners with suitable dogs, help to screen and counsel potential adopters, conduct home visits, and offer post-adoption assistance. Volunteers must have a car, be able to work well with others and have dog experience—mulitple breed is preferred but not mandatory, and Pitbull experience is a plus. Adoption counselors are essential to New Leash’s success! New Leash is an all-volunteer group that has found homes for over 500 dogs. Complete a volunteer application on New Leash’s website to get started.
