Each year, The Door serves more than 11,000 young people from all over New York City, aged 12-21 years, with services ranging from health care, to college preparation, recreational activities, and daily meals–all under one roof. The Door is currently looking for volunteers in their Member Services Department. Volunteers welcome and orient new members, and are responsible for providing a brief interview and intake assessment to all new members. This is a great opportunity for students interested in exploring social service work and people looking to help under-serviced populations. Volunteers commit to a minimum of two afternoon shifts per week, Monday-Friday between 2:00pm and 6:30pm, and until 8:00pm on Wednesdays.
