iVolunteer with International Medical Corps and have been doing so for more than two and a half years. It has taken me to the Democratic Republic of Congo, Haiti, and most recently Ethiopia, where the worst drought in 60 years has ravaged East Africa – primarily Somalia, Ethiopia and Kenya. Already, tens of thousands of people have died of starvation and disease.

As President of The Leary Firefighters Foundation, I have spent the last ten years talking about how we take firefighters for granted. We all know that there is never enough money to get them the equipment and training that they need.
